What does "CherryT" mean?

Since we are located in the cherry capital of the world, drop a larger cherry from the sky and give back to charities, CherryT is a fun play on words that represent this event and the local area.

How did the CherryT Ball Drop get started?

In 2008, a small group of Traverse City area residents got together and devised a way celebrate New Years Eve and give back to the community at the same time. A committee was then formed of former CherryT volunteers and many new volunteers from the Festival Foundation to work in conjuction to continue the great tradition that was started 10 years ago!

How much money has the CherryT Ball Drop raised?

The CherryT Ball Drop has raised nearly $110,000 to date for local nonprofits.
